In this project, I teamed up with three other students to develop an application for the Belgian Air Force aimed at attracting more young people to explore various careers in the air force. The application, Wings of Belgium, introduces users to the different roles available beyond just becoming a pilot.
Wings of Belgium is a game designed to give users insight into the various skills required for different air force roles through engaging minigames. Players navigate a globe with missions represented by minigames scattered around the map. Each minigame is associated with a specific air force role, providing players with a fun and educational experience. By playing these minigames, players can improve their skills and knowledge, tracking their progress through ranks and levels. The application also features a leaderboard to foster a sense of competition and achievement among players.
Developing this project allowed me to enhance my skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while also working with Express.js for the backend and Knex.js for database management. This collaborative effort not only helped us create an engaging tool for the Belgian Air Force but also strengthened our teamwork and technical abilities.
