This project was my first publicly released web application and marked an important step in my development as a full-stack developer. High Bass Audio is a drum and bass music label that I run, and I completely rebuilt its original Shopify website as a custom web application.
The platform was developed with Nuxt for the frontend and Laravel for the backend, giving me hands-on experience building and connecting a modern full-stack application. The initial version included a complete online shop with Stripe integration, allowing users to purchase music directly through the platform. Later, the project evolved into a free download only platform as the focus is now more to streaming services on the side of releases.
For the free downloads, I integrated the SoundCloud API to allow visitors to preview tracks directly on the platform before downloading them, aswell supporting the music (repost, like and comment) before downloading through their SoundCloud account. The music files and related assets are stored using Amazon S3, providing scalable cloud storage for the label's music.
Building High Bass Audio from the ground up gave me experience with frontend and backend development, API integrations, payment processing, cloud storage, database management, and deploying a real-world application that is still publicly accessible today.
